PORTRAITS IN STONE - The art of engraving pictures

We started engraving pictures from photos onto stone to satisfy requests from our customers to provide custom memorials and pet memorial stones. Slowly this grew and now we engrave images from photos onto stone for wedding gifts, pet memorials, memorial stones, dedication and tree memorial stones.

We do not use a laser, all our detailed photo engraving is done by sandblasting the image we create from your supplied artwork. Laser engraving on stone is limited as only black stones can be used and the laser is only able to bruise the stone surface. Using the sandblasting process allows us to use any colour or type of stone and to carve as deep as required which is not possible with a laser. Although the image we use has less detail than a photo, we are able to create engravings that exactly reflect the original photo.
